ADVANTAGES:

Manual
  • Designed based upon widely used and proven Type GK Design (aka Hydril)
  • Most widely used annular bop design used in industry
  • Only two moving parts
  • Long piston style
  • Feedable packing unit
  • Piston conical bowl design
  • Field replaceable wear plate
  • Packing flange steel inserts
  • Greater stripping capability
  • Pressure energized seals
  • Seals and parts available worldwide
  • Parts and seals interchange with other Type GK BOP’s

Control Flow Annular BOP’s are particularly qualified to meet the industry’s needs for simple and reliable protection. All Control Flow Annular BOP’s are equipped with a field replaceable wear plate bolted to the inner bottom face of the BOP head. This non-sealing wear surface prevents upward movement of the packing during closure. Further, the packing units are manufactured from high quality rubber material reinforced with flanged steel segments. A full range of annular sizes and pressure ranges are offered in this reliable, time proven design.

Natural Rubber is compounded for drilling with water-base drilling fluids. Natural rubber can be used at operating temperatures between -30 ℉ to 225 ℉ (-35℃ to 107℃). When properly applied, the compounded natural rubber seal element will usually provide the longest service life.

The seal element is all-black seal element identified with the suffix ”NR”.

Nitrile Rubber (a synthetic compound) is for use with oil-base or oil-additive drilling fluids. It provides the best service with

oil-base mud, when operated at temperatures between 20 ℉ to 190℉ (-7℃

to 88 ℃). The nitrile rubber seal element is identified by a red color band with the suffix “NBR”.

Neoprene Rubber is for low-temperature operating servic

e and oil-base drilling fluids. It can be used at operating temperatures between -30℉ to 170℉ (-35 ℃ to 77 ℃). Neoprene rubber provides better service with oil-base drilling fluids than natural rubber. It has better cold temperature elasticity than nitrile rubber; but, it is detrimentally a affected by extended high temperature applications. A neoprene packing unit should be used when natural rubber or synthetic rubber will not satisfy the operational conditions. The neoprene seal element is identified by a green band with the suffix “CR”.

Seals for CAMTOP BOPs are manufactured from a special nitrile rubber material which provides long, trouble-free service in sealing against oil, gas, or water.

Expected H2S Service does not affect selection of seal element material. H2S service will reduce the service life of rubber products, but the best overall service life is obtained by matching the packing unit material with requirements of the specific drilling fluid.
